Terms of use

These terms apply to the NepaliPDF website and its API (together, “the service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

The service

NepaliPDF converts PDF files, especially Nepali (Devanagari) ones, into Word documents, plain text and Markdown. It is free, needs no account, and is also available as an API for use from other programs.

Your files

You keep all rights to the files you upload and to the documents the service makes from them. You allow us to process each file only as far as needed to convert it and give you the result. How long anything is kept, and what is never kept, is described in the privacy policy.

You are responsible for the files you upload. Only upload files that you have the right to use, and that you are allowed to share with a service like this one — especially documents that contain other people's personal details.

Acceptable use

Please don't use the service to:

• process anything illegal, or anything you have no right to process;
• upload malware, or files made to attack or crash the service;
• get around the usage limits, for example by spreading requests across many addresses or accounts;
• send traffic heavy enough to degrade the service for others, or try to access parts of it that aren't public;
• resell the service, or present it as your own, without our written permission.

We may block access, or limit it, for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.

Limits and the API

To keep the service available for everyone, each PDF can be up to 20 MB and 50 pages, files are converted one at a time, and the number of conversions from one address is limited (currently 20 per 10 minutes and 100 per day). The same limits apply to the website and the API. We may change the limits, or introduce API keys, at any time. If you need more than the limits allow, contact us.

Accuracy

Conversion is fully automatic. The service works hard to reproduce your document exactly, and marks anything it could not identify with certainty, but it can still make mistakes — in the text, the layout or the tables. Scanned PDFs are not supported.

Always check the result against the original PDF before relying on it, especially for official, legal, financial or examination documents. The original PDF remains the authoritative version.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service running, but it may be slow, unavailable or interrupted at times, and we may change, add or remove features, or stop the service, at any time and without notice. Keep your own copies of anything you need: files are deleted automatically after conversion.

No warranty

The service is provided free, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that it will be accurate, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service or from being unable to use it — including errors in converted documents, lost data, or decisions made on the basis of a result. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Advertising and other websites

The service may show advertising in the future, and pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content of ads or other websites. Any change to how data is handled because of advertising will be described in the privacy policy first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Using the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
